Specialty coffee EUDR playbook for Nordic and small European buyers
How Nordic and small European specialty coffee buyers onboard suppliers, cascade missing evidence, and reuse plot records for EUDR without a custom IT stack.
Nordic and small European specialty buyers rarely control the whole agri-food chain. They buy from exporters and cooperatives who buy from members. EUDR still expects plot-level geolocation and usable due diligence evidence. This playbook is the workflow those buyers can run with Tracebud in open beta: onboard the supplier network, cascade only what is missing, keep records reusable. Other programmes stay soft: designed for co-build on the same spine, not claimed as live modules.
Who this is for
- Specialty importers and roasters in the Nordics and elsewhere in Europe with limited IT teams
- Buyers who work through exporters and cooperatives rather than farming themselves
- Teams that need self-serve Field App + Dashboard instead of a consulting rebuild every season
Workflow (EUDR live path)
1. Stand up the desk
Create a workspace, invite your team, and connect supplier organisations. Same-day desk onboarding is the design goal: import members or add them by hand, then send the first campaign. Get started · onboarding FAQ.
2. Onboard origin partners
Ask cooperatives and exporters to bring member plots into the shared evidence layer with consent. Producers without phones can be covered by Field Agents. Origin capture stays free for farmers; your organisation pays the access fee per tonne when you receive the lot.
3. Collect what EUDR needs at the plot
Plot geolocation, consent and supporting evidence happen in the Field App, including offline. Screening sits on those plots in the Dashboard. Detail: EUDR plot-level geolocation.
4. Cascade gaps instead of remapping
When a shipment pack is incomplete, request only the missing polygon, consent refresh or document from the next link. Full remaps burn trust and season time. Playbook: farmer-owned evidence and cascading requests.
5. Keep chain of custody through the lot
Lots should point back to contributing plots through aggregation and processing. Identity Preservation and Segregation are live; CoC Mass Balance is scheduled. Concepts: batch-to-plot walkthrough.
6. Assemble buyer-ready DDS-style packs
Use the live EUDR path to assemble due diligence packs and file where the product supports it. EUDR compliance · FAQ: DDS · EUDR checklist.
Soft link: multi-programme future (not live)
Specialty buyers often hear Scope 3, regen or living-income asks behind the next contract. Tracebud is designed for moulding the same origin records to those programmes with co-build partners. Soft claim only. Hub: capture once, multi-programme evidence. Do not treat public solution pages for Scope 3, regen or living income as shipped modules today.
What success looks like this season
- Supplier network invited and first campaign sent without a custom build
- Gaps closed by cascade, not by another Excel remap
- Lot packs that still point at root plots
- Cost on receiving organisations, not on farmers
